A total of 24,12,072 students who appeared for the Class 10 board examinations conducted from February 17 to March 11, 2026 across 8,075 exam centres can now check their results. Passing Criteria for CBSE 10th Result 2026

To be declared passed in the CBSE 10th Board Examination 2026, students must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Minimum 33% marks in each subject (theory and internal assessment combined).
  • In the theory paper (80 marks), students must score at least 27 marks.
  • In the practical exam (20 marks), students must secure at least 6 marks.
  • In borderline cases, CBSE may award grace marks as per the board’s policy.

Phase 2 Exam – Improve Your Score

This year, CBSE has introduced a new system allowing Class 10 students to appear for a second board examination. Students who wish to improve their scores in up to three subjects can register for the CBSE Phase 2 Exam 2026, scheduled from May 15 to June 1, 2026. The higher of the two scores will be counted in the final result. Students who received a compartment in Phase 1 can also appear in Phase 2.

Compartment Exam 2026

Students who have failed in one or two subjects in the CBSE 10th Result 2026 will be placed in the compartment category. They will have an opportunity to clear the pending subjects through the CBSE Compartment Examination, expected to be held in July 2026.
