Website Not Loading? Try These Options

On result day, the official website gets a huge rush of traffic and may load slowly. Here is what you can do if the website is not opening:

  • Wait a few minutes and try again — this is normal every year.
  • Open DigiLocker at results.digilocker.gov.in — it works much better on result day and the marksheet you download from here is 100% valid for college admissions.
  • Check through the UMANG App — search for CBSE and enter your roll number.
  • Use the SMS service — type CBSE12 followed by your Roll Number and send it to 7738299899. Your result will come right to your phone.

How Many Marks Do You Need to Pass?

To pass the CBSE Class 12 exam 2026, you need to score at least 33% marks in every subject — theory and practical counted together. Theory and practical are also checked separately, so you need to clear both. If you fail in just one subject, CBSE may place you in the compartment category. You can then clear that subject in the compartment exam, which is usually held in July. If you fail in three or more subjects, unfortunately you will have to wait for next year’s main board exam.

Why is CBSE 12th Result 2026 Coming Earlier This Year?

In previous years, both Class 10 and Class 12 results used to come together in May. This year, things are a little different. CBSE has introduced a two-exam system for Class 10, where students can appear for a second board exam from May 15 to June 1, 2026. To make sure everything runs smoothly, CBSE fast-tracked its evaluation work and released the Class 10 result as early as April 15. The Class 12 result is now expected to follow before April ends. So if you are waiting, the good news is — the result should come much sooner than you expected.

What to Do Right After the Result?

  • Download your marksheet from DigiLocker or the official website the moment the result is out. This digital copy is accepted by colleges for provisional admission.
  • Start applying to colleges early — seats in top colleges fill up very fast after results. Do not wait.
  • Apply for entrance exams like JEE, NEET, CUET if you have not already — check deadlines immediately.
  • Apply for re-evaluation if you are not happy with your marks — but act fast, there is a short window of about 30 days after the result.
  • Compartment students — check cbse.gov.in right away for the compartment exam schedule. The registration window does not stay open for long.

Keep checking the official website at cbse.gov.in for the latest updates on the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 date and time. Do not trust any WhatsApp forwards or social media posts claiming to know the exact result date — wait for an official announcement from CBSE only.
