New Delhi: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has released the Second Provisional Admission List 2026 for Class 1 today, April 16, 2026. Parents who could not find their child’s name in the First Provisional List released on April 9–10 can now check the second list on the official portal admission.kvs.gov.in. The second list covers seats that remained vacant after the first round of selection.
Parents whose children appear in this list must complete document verification at the respective Kendriya Vidyalaya promptly. If seats still remain vacant after this list, a Third Provisional List will be released on April 21, 2026.
How to Check KVS Class 1 Second Provisional List 2026
Visit the official KVS admission portal admission.kvs.gov.in or kvsangathan.nic.in. Click on the “Lottery Result” link on the homepage. Select your school, region, and category. Download the category-wise PDF selection list and use Ctrl + F to search your child’s name or registration number.
Parents can also check individual application status by visiting the login section, entering the Login Code, child’s date of birth, and registered mobile number, then clicking “Check Application Status”.
Status Terms – What They Mean
Selected means the child is in the main provisional list and must report to the school for document verification. Waiting List (WL) means the child is in the queue — if selected candidates do not take admission, seats will be offered to waiting list candidates in order. Post-Lottery Number shows the child’s final position after the lottery draw.
Documents Required for Verification
Parents whose child is selected must carry the following documents to the school for verification — online registration form printout, child’s birth certificate, passport-size photo, and residence proof (electricity bill, Aadhaar card, or rent agreement). Additionally, service certificate for defence/central/state government employees, caste certificate (if applicable), EWS/BPL certificate (for RTE quota), and child’s Aadhaar card must be submitted.
What If Child’s Name Is Still Not in the List?
Parents should not worry if the child’s name does not appear in the Second Provisional List. The Third Provisional List will be released on April 21, 2026. If online applications are insufficient, KVS will also open offline registration from April 22 to April 26, 2026 to fill remaining vacant seats. The last date for admissions to all classes except Class 11 is June 30, 2026.
