How Are UP Board Toppers Selected?
The UPMSP state topper list is prepared based on the total marks obtained by students across all subjects in the board examination. Students who score the highest aggregate marks in the state are declared as state toppers. UPMSP typically announces the top 10 merit list for both Class 10 and Class 12. District-level toppers are also recognised at separate felicitation ceremonies organised by the state government.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently felicitated UP Board toppers at the state level. In 2025, all state and district toppers were congratulated with a special message from the Chief Minister on social media.
